USING LIMITS

INTRODUCTION

Today's lesson we are going to be learning the laws of limits in Pre-Calculus. we will then use these laws to solve for the function of (x).

OBJECTIVE

Students will learn to use the six laws of limits in their lesson and assignments which they will have to post comments to online. Only three of the limit laws will be covered in this lesson.

THEORM OF LIMIT LAWS

If L,M,C and K are real number and the limit when the function F(x) is equal to L, when (x) goes to "c" and the limit of the function G(x) is equal to M, when (x) goes to "c". The limit it written such that:

lim f(x) =L
x->c

and

lim g(x) = M
x->c

PROCESS

Individual Steps

  • When you are finding the sum of two functions you will be solving for the sum of its limits. Therefore, you will use the sum rule which states:

lim f(x) +g(x)=L+M

  • When you are finding the difference of two functions you will be solving for the difference of its limits. Therefore, you will use the difference rule which states:

lim f(x) - g(x)=L-M

  • When you are finding the product of two functions you will be solving for the product of its limits. Therefore, you will use the product rule which states:

lim f(x) * g(x) = L*M

Group Steps

  1. You will work in groups of four and use the internet resources I have provided to learn more about limits.

  2. You will then have to find examples of the laws I put in your individual steps.

  3. You will find out what are the three other limits that was not covered in class and state what they are.

  4. Once you find all your information you will post it in the comments box. Note that all the group members names should be present so you can get credit for your work.

EVALUATION

Class Participation - 20 %

Assignments - 60 %

Others comments - 20 %

CONCLUSION

Students will learn how to use limits, they also be active in their own learning and understanding of the use of laws. They will also be able to post daily logs so that if there is something that I need to go over that they did not understand.
